Tuesday 1 April 2025 Year 6 Morning Writing A group of Year 6 students have been attending challenge writing lessons on a Tuesday morning. Recently, they have been working on a piece titled 'Out in the Cold' where they are using their Geography studies of the polar regions to inspire their creative writing.

Friday 28 March 2025 Olympic Games in ancient Greece This week in our Groundbreaking Greeks topic we have been learning about the ancient and modern Olympic Games. In this lesson the children researched the achievements and influence of the ancient Greeks on the wider world. We discovered how the Olympic Games was the greatest sporting event in ancient Greece and how it has developed into the modern Olympic Games we have today.

Friday 28 March 2025 Mother's Day in the EYFS We had a lovely morning welcoming all the Mummies into the EYFS! We began with a 'guess the Mummy' game, moved onto sharing our wonderful journals and folders, showing our Mums the brilliant work we've been doing in class and we finished with a beautiful flower paper craft! Thank you so much for joining us for such a fun morning!

Sunday 23 March 2025 Darting through the River Dart! This week, Year 4 had a thrilling trip to the enchanting River Dart. This exciting outing complimented our geography curriculum, focusing on natural processes such as erosion and deposition along the river. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore the great outdoors and see real-life examples of what we've learnt in the classroom.

Monday 17 March 2025 Exploring the Acropolis on Google Earth Our topic, 'Groundbreaking Greeks' continued this week with our learning focusing on the location and size of the Acropolis of Athens. We used Google Earth to explore its features more closely and encouraged the children to describe what they could see. They continued to develop their oracy skills by discussing and debating how they think the building was used.

Tuesday 4 March 2025 The EYFS celebrate Shrove Tuesday! We had a lovely day on Tuesday celebrating Pancake Day! The children made pancake collages in the creative area, role played their pancake flipping on the playdough table, wrote shopping lists for their pretend pancakes on the Writing table and practiced their tricky word reading by flipping the pancakes that they knew. We also had a special Topic lesson where the children got to decorate their own pancake with fruit, raisins, lemon juice or honey.
