Trees
Whew, the rain stayed away today! We actually had sunny blue skies.
Year 5 carried on helping with our tree project. They did some absolutely amazing art using natural materials like mud, leaves and charcoal.
We had a good chat about why trees are so important to our plant. They are key to life.
We talked a little about woodland management and how coppicing trees is vital. Coppicing trees means cutting trees to a certain level to help the health of a woodland and the health of a tree. This to stop them from growing too close together and stop certain types of diseases that affect trees.
After being so creative, a fire was made and hot chocolate drunk. The children left the forest school area quite muddy - which to me is a sign of a good day outside :)
Have a lovely weekend!
