Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

In Year 4 at East Farleigh we will predominantly be completing a vast and engaging curriculum, of learning. From Ancient Civilisations in history, to exploring Rivers and Mountains in geography. From place value to 4-digits in maths, to writing stunning stories in writing, we will go on a great journey of learning this year.

I'm particularly excited to bring the children's learning to life with a school trip in the Spring term related to our Geography topic - rivers and mountains! 

As we move through the year we will be mastering our times-tables before putting them to use in the Year 4 multiplication check. This is a statutory assessment which the children complete, similar to their phonic check in Year 1. It will take place in school, with a series of time-tables which must be solved within just a few seconds. While this is a daunting prospect now, I'm confident the children will complete the check with ease.
