Year 5 Apple crumble

 In Forest school year 5 and I made an apple crumble on the fire. 

We used :

Apples

Cinnamon 

Nutmeg

Brown sugar

Flour

Oats

Butter

Baking Powder

We baked / cooked the crumble in a Dutch oven which is a cast iron pot with a lid. It retains the heat really well hence is good to 'bake' with.

The children then helped cut some kindling so we could use our Kelly kettles to boil hot water for hot chocolate. 

We really used our fire skills to the max today and I have to say Year 5 - you really nailed it. Well done!
