That’s a wrap from Hamlet Woods

Nature Poem- Wild Soul by Nitan Das

Life is short don’t spend it in a box

add a little wildness to your soul

to catch your dreams a floating cloud

to lose  your worries a silent lake

to find your calm a friendly forest

staring at a box don’t stay stuck

add a little wildness to your soul

to still your mind a singing stream

to fill your heart a tiny flower

to tune your soul a wandering trail

to nature we return, bound in a box

before you go

add a little wildness to your soul

I love this poem as it encompasses what nature means to me.  You are never alone in nature. When you spend time outside it truly make you appreciate life and being in the moment, being expressive and creative.  I hope our sessions at Hamlet Woods have helped the children let go and be free. Even if it was just for the day. I hoped it help them see that connecting to nature can help us in many ways. We learnt about grounding by walking bare foot on the ground. We learnt what lichen was. We learnt that getting dirt on your hands is okay.  I could go on and on as we learnt so much.  It’s been a wonderful experience to be offsite and in a real woods with so much space to explore, play and learn.   An experience I hope the children won’t forget in a hurry💚
