Pumpkins and Popcorn Year R

Year R had their introduction to forest school here at East Farleigh primary today. Despite the rain this morning it all went really well. It was so lovely getting to know the children a little better too.

We had an Autumn/ Harvest theme which obviously ties in really well with our end of term Harvest festival and the season we are currently in. 
The children learnt about what the different parts of a pumpkin are called.  Did you know a pumpkin has ribs…? 

After we had some fun with our creative activity, it was time to make a fire and cook some popcorn.  This was a new experience for most of the children.  We discussed fire safety as this is extremely important.  The children listened so well and made me proud with excellent understanding of what was expected of them.

I am already looking forward to my next session with then next term.  I hope you all have a lovely half term and enjoy a well deserved break.
