EYFS Phonics - s, a, t & p

This week we began our Phonics learning in the EYFS! The children thoroughly enjoyed their first few Little Wandle sessions and would like to share with you the sounds we have learnt this week:

After Phonics each day, the children are invited to explore our Phonics Corner and take part in a hands-on activity linked to the sound we have been learning. These activities are designed to make practising our new sounds fun and meaningful, while also developing the children’s fine motor skills through activities such as threading, manipulating small objects, mark-making and using a range of tools. This supports the Physical Development Early Learning Goal, particularly developing the control and coordination needed for handwriting and other precise movements. The activities also provide valuable opportunities to develop early literacy skills, as children revisit the sounds they have been taught, practise recognising and forming letters, and begin to apply their growing phonics knowledge independently in their play and writing.
