EYFS Phonics - i, n, m & d
This week in the EYFS we learnt 4 new phonemes in Phonics - i, n, m and d. The children have also learnt that what a 'grapheme' is: A grapheme is a letter or group of letters that represents a sound (phoneme). To help them understand this we say 'a grapheme is what a sound looks like when it's written down'. They recite this daily! We never hold back from teaching the children the correct terminology.
