Year 5

Welcome to Year 5

We are so pleased to welcome you to Year 5 - we have such an exciting year ahead. In your penultimate year at East Farleigh we will predominantly be consolidating all elements of the curriculum learning so far,  broadening and deepening our understanding in all subjects and preparing you for the final Year at East Farleigh.  We hope that you will become more independent, resilient and reflective as a learner but have a lot of fun along the way too!

Highlights of the year include learning about our topics: Sow, Grow, Farm, Groundbreaking Greeks and Dynamic Dynasties.  In Science, we will be learning about Earth and Space, Forces, Properties and Changes of Materials and Living Things.  Our writing texts include: Queen of the Falls, The Lost Happy Endings, Arthur and the Golden Rope... to name but a few and our maths topics become even more exciting as we problem solve, investigate and deepen our understanding in all areas now that we have become masters of our Times Tables! 

During the course of the year, you will be encouraged to take part in extra curricular events such as the Arts Festival or the Young Voices Choir Concert as well as representing the school and Kent in many sporting activities. There will also be another Science Day to look forward to and many exciting trips to enjoy!
