Year 6 - Delving into the causes of WW1
Students have been busy in History, researching and exploring the causes of the First World War. We have been learning about Imperialism, Nationalism, Militarism and Alliances. Students also learnt about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and have been weighing up what they feel was the main cause.
Students then delved into exploring artefacts such as propaganda, to analyse why men would have volunteered to join the war. They were surprised as how direct the appeal was and by how persuasive the posters were.
