Someone's Been Eating My Porridge!
This week in the EYFS we have immersed ourselves in the fairy tale world of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! We have been role playing the story to work on our Communication, Language and Performance skills, making bear masks to further develop our Creative Art & Design skills, made some oat-filled playdough to strengthen our fine motor skills and so much more!
A highlight of this week was during one of our topic sessions where the children got to pretend to be Goldilocks and taste some porridge meant for the three bears. First up was Daddy Bear's porridge, Ethan told us it was 'too salty' and some of the children even went as far as saying it was 'disgusting'! Poor Daddy Bear, at least there was plenty left for him!
Next up was Mummy Bear's porridge, hers was full of golden syrup. George said the porridge was 'much too sweet' but the opinions of others were mixed, with many thinking the addition of the syrup made it 'delicious'.
Finally it was time to try Baby Bear's porridge, this was plain with just oats and milk, many children, including Ember, said it was 'just right'! Mila said she could have 'gobbled up the whole bowl!' and Margot said 'this is my favourite one.' Poor Baby Bear, there really wasn't very much left for him by the end.
The children were fantastic at developing their descriptive language and I am so proud of them for giving it a go - especially when it came to trying Daddy Bear's porridge!
