A lesson from the best!
On Tuesday, a super athlete, Ryan Raghoo visited our school and led a PE lesson for us.
First he told us all about himself, before answering some questions for us. He told us all about wheelchair rugby, how to play, the rules and skills he needs.
We learnt to master basic movements including running, throwing and catching, as well as developing agility and co-ordination, and begin to apply these in a dribbling activity. We dribbled the ball to the end cone, and then dribbled half way back before throwing the ball to the next person in our team.
We then continued to practice these skills by dribbling the ball to Ryan, throwing it to him, and then catching when he threw it back to us. He gave us lots of tips of how to throw and catch well, including holding our hand in the W position.
We finished the day with a fascinating assembly, where Ryan told us more about his journey to wheelchair rugby. What a great day!
