Children should not be on site before 8.30 a.m. The gate is supervised from 8.30 am onwards. Children enter school by the side pedestrian gate and remain in the playground. The front entrance is for parents and visitors only.

Please use the Village Car Park next to the school and use the footpath through the recreation ground to access the children’s entrance. In view of the narrow nature of Vicarage Lane please avoid walking in the lane or using the front door of the school, if at all possible.

School uniform

Governors and staff are generally agreed that the wearing of school uniform plays an important part in the maintenance of the school’s ethos. It fosters a sense of belonging and helps children to develop a pride in their school, therefore parents are asked to support this policy wherever possible.

All uniform items can be purchased from Pages Schoolwear, Unit 7-8 Granada House, Lower Stone Street Maidstone or via their website at www.pages-schoolwear.co.uk

PLEASE NAME ALL CLOTHING. Our lost property bin often overflows!

Children with pierced ears who have to wear earrings should wear studs, not hooped rings, for safety. Watches and earrings must be removed before all PE lessons. Your co-operation will be greatly appreciated.

Open Evenings

During the course of the school year, open evenings are held to give staff an opportunity to discuss children’s progress with parents and view work in classrooms.  Interviews take place in a confidential situation.  Parents are always welcome to make an appointment via the office to see the Headteacher or a member of staff should problems arise at other times.

We ask your co-operation in ensuring that appointments are made in advance.  If there is a pressing problem requiring instant attention, please see the Headteacher.  Please do not enter a classroom before calling at the office first.

Money

All money sent to school for whatever reason must be sealed in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name, class and indicating for what purpose it is being sent, i.e. dinner money, school trip, swimming, etc.

Dinner money is currently £2.10 per meal and should be sent on Monday morning and be placed in the box in reception.  If you have two children in school please send two envelopes. You may pay online for school dinners via Caterlink Parent Site

Please do not put money for two purposes in one envelope (e.g. dinner money and school trip) as the dinner money goes directly to the catering contractor and not through the school bank account.
